Axentia completes new Insect Quarantine Unit at York Biotech Campus

Programme and Construction management specialist Axentia has delivered a new 2,500 sq ft Insect Quarantine Unit at York Biotech Campus, supporting Fera Science Ltd's advanced invertebrate research programme.

Now operational on the YBC site, the purpose-built facility provides Fera with the controlled environment needed for R&D underpinning its biosecurity work with Defra. The suite of heavily serviced, high-specification laboratories has been designed with sustainability in mind.

Axentia led the programme end-to-end on behalf of York Biotech Campus, covering specialist laboratory design, construction tender and procurement, and full project management.

Simon Ward, Managing Director of Axentia, said: "We're delighted to have partnered with YBC and Fera Science Ltd on this project, delivering a suite of heavily serviced, high-specification laboratories to support the vital scientific work being carried out on the Campus."
